“To” Recipients Behaving as Blind Carbon Copy
-
Hi SendGrid Team,
Thank you for your time in reviewing our concern, after working with SendGrid support for the past week on ticket # 1106554, they have advised me to report my issue here. I will provide a brief summary of the situation and an image of our chat/email thread so that you have all of the details and troubleshooting steps. If you are not able to access this ticket then I can forward the email thread over so that you can access the links to screenshots and email headers. Ultimately, they have advised that the behavior we are bringing to your attention is the intended behavior for the plugin after the latest update so I am hoping to present enough concern to have your team reconsider this decision.
In short, upgrading the SendGrid WordPress plugin from version 1.10.9 to 1.11.3 has caused all email recipients to be treated as blind carbon copies. Prior to this update, all of the recipients in the TO field were visible to each other. Only allowing each individual person to see that they were the recipient (when that is not the case) presents a range of issues for our organization which are outlined in the attached correspondence.
As you will find in the ticket, we are using Contact form 7 on several hundred websites, all with the default configuration for TO and BCC recipients accordingly. Inside of ticket # 1106554 you will find screenshots as well as email headers showing the difference in behavior between the two plugin versions.
Thank you again in advance for your attention to this matter, it is greatly appreciated.
