To register or not to register……that is the question

  • Hi. I am new to blogging. I am designing my blog and have come across a small dilemma. Should I or shouldn’t I require readers to register prior to being able to post comments? What are the pro/cons? Please advise. Thanks.

  • I am all “con”.
    I never register on any blog to comment. It’s annoying.
    It doesn’t help preventing spam – so, I consider it useless.

    Thanks. I share the same sentiment, but wasn’t sure if there is something that I am missing. Being a newbie and all. Thanks again.

    Others might have a totally different opinion – so, wait and listen to all, then decide it for yourself.

    I also don’t force registration for comment (and tend to avoid such sites), though presently I do have WordPress set to moderate comments from anyone who has not been previously approved. But that’s because I’m a spam magnet. ;)
