• Hi – when should I repair or optimize a database? I have the DB MAnager plugin installed, and my site’s posts (called lessons) are suddenly not showing their contents. I can the contents in the .sql file. I have updated wordpress to 3.5.1 and buddypress to 1.7.1. I have posted my problem in the buddypress forum as well, but in general, does this sound like a database repair issue? PLease advise. I figure I should repair all of the tables. But what is the difference between repair and optimize? Thanks!

  • You should repair a database when you suspect it has been damaged.
You should optimize a database when you feel the site’s performance is poor.

Cool I suspect it has been then – missing content – and will give it a shot! Thanks!
