to show cut articles on main page

    Anyone knows how can I set a mode to show on main page of wp blog not full text of an article but only several first lines with link “more ->” to full text on a next page? I could’t find the option in my admin panel.

    I believe this would have to be done by a plugin or a little workaround in your index.php template page. You can use the <!--more--> tag to cutoff so that they can click on it to read the rest of the post, but I believe you are wanting to do more of an excerpt type of thing where you specify how many characters or words to allow until “more” comes along, followed by “…”.

    Am I right, or not? I believe I know what you are wanting, and if I am right, I don’t think you can do this stright “out of the box”.

    Drew, thanks. I get it now. The tag <more> enough for me yet to split a text.
