    Hi there,

I have a wordpress blog and I have to set up an SMTP on the wordpress site to be able to receive emails. Everything works flawlessly, except that after about 2-3 months – WordPress sends me a message saying “Your SMTP token has either been expired or revoked”. I am definitely not revoking the tokens, so it must be expiring. Is there any way to make these permanent?

  • Hi @azureconcept,

When you get a chance, could you please share the exact error message you’re receiving? SMTP option does not generally use tokens. Are you using Gmail mailer? Gmail revokes the token on several conditions such as a change in your Gmail account password, or you enabled two-factor authentication etc.

    I hope this helps!

Hi yes, it just says Token has been expired or revoked.(invalid_grant)

    Hi @azureconcept,

Thanks for the details. The invalid grant error usually indicates there’s a permission issue due to the secret key being invalidated. This could happen when you change your Gmail account password or enable two-factor authentication. To fix the issue, please remove the existing connection and re-authorize your account to send emails.

    I hope this helps!
