Tons of trouble trying to update Divi theme
-
I recently ran into issues whenever updating the Divi theme. It appears to have something to do with the LiteSpeed cache. The reason I believe this is that when I disable the plugin and manually delete the cache via FTP, the update will complete. Most times it will not succeed without doing so.
Here’s what happens when I try to update without doing what I’ve described above. (Note: None of these seem to happen with any predictability. They vary. Many times they vary with each attempted upgrade.)
1. I get the following error: “An error occurred while updating Divi: Download failed. cURL error 56: OpenSSL SSL_read: error:1408F119:SSL routines:SSL3_GET_RECORD:decryption failed or bad record mac, errno 0”
2. Divi seems to be updating, but never does (often leading to #3).
3. The update fails and leaves the .maintenance file in the root.
4. It updates, but the text on the update page never shows up saying it succeeded.
5. On RARE occasions it actually updates correctly, showing the proper text on the update page. I think it’s happened twice in the last 60+ update attempts. No rhyme, nor reason why.
Any help with this would be greatly appreciated. This issue has dramatically increased the time it takes to maintain my client sites. If it keeps up I will have no choice but to go back to Apache and Varnish. ??
This *only* happens with Divi. Elegant Themes support essentially threw its hands up in the air and told me to contact you. He’d never seen anything like this either.
Thanks,
Corey
