Too bad it’s frontend only

  • It looks like a nice plugin, but it has the same shortcoming as many others: it focuses on the frontend and community stuff. What I cannot find anywhere on the web is a plugin that fixes the shortcomings of the backend default WP user management:
    – a nice, modern design
    – an intuitive workflow and interface
    – advanced central user management
    – mapping of woocommerce customer data with WP user data, both native and custom
    – custom fields management
    – drag and drop, selective management for both frontend and backend forms (register, account, bliing, shipping, etc)
    – etc etc

    Why do all user plugins focus on frontend only, and trying to add stuff like memberships and community profiles, etc?

    There is no decent professional allround backend user management and (basic) CRM tool that can replace the outdated and ugly WP user management, as far as I know. The plugins that come somewhat close all have shortcomings one way or another.

    Man, I wished I could code…

    Indeed Profile Builder is focused on managing users in Front End and we didn’t promote it otherwise. If you would like to integrate Profile Builder with WooCommerce you will need to use the WooCommerce Sync add-on (docs). You can manage PB’s fields in Profile Builder -> Manage Fields.

    We focus on Front End because the default WordPress User Management functionality is sufficient in most cases.

    I am sorry that our product doesn’t meet your needs to manage users in backend.

    you are right, I shouldn’t blame your plugin for not having features you don’t promote it has. Sorry about that. I changed the rating from 3 to 4 stars.

    I am just disappointed about the fact that all user plugins focus on frontend, and none on the backend, to improve WP’s appalling user management system and UI.

    I also am frustrated that all user plugins have their own user management system, instead of building on WP default system. If you use Woo then you have 3 separate user systems to maintain and try to talk to each other. And if you have form builder and newsletter plugins, then you even have 4 or 5 systems to try and talk to each other. It becomes a mess, especially for clients.

    But I’m not a coder, and maybe the way WP is built prohibits a decent integration of separate form-based user systems. It sounds so logical to me: have 1 core user system that plugins can build upon, instead of adding their own separate systems. But apparently it isn’t that easy…

    Thank you for changing your review from 3 to 4 stars and also for understanding the situation.

    I understand what you need but unfortunately I don’t have a solution for your request. If you decide to use WooCommerce or a Newsletter plugin you will need to look for integration so you can manage them all in one place.

    WordPress offers by default the minimum features in order to have user management. If you need other features you have to look for plugins or custom implementations.

    I am sorry again for this situation and I hope you will be able to find a solution for your project.
