    Hello,
we are running a WordPress WooCommerce Shop, and after installing The Abandoned Cart Lite for WooCommerce we noticed a huge number of Abandoned Carts, after testing my website speed, health and functionalities it seems everything is okay…
P.S. we tried modifying the robots.txt file (for suspicious bots crawling) but still receiving a big numbers of Abandoned Carts.
    Any Suggestions?
    Thanks in advance

    Hi @oskatalal,

I apologize for the late response and for the inconvenience caused to you due to this.

Today, we have released version 5.7.1 of our Abandoned Cart Lite plugin in which we have prevented logging such bots and crawlers and only the genuine carts will be tracked now. Can you please update our plugin to its latest version and let us know how it goes?

Let us know the result and if you have any questions.

    Regards,
    Priyanka Jagtap

    Hi priyankajagtap,
Just wanted to touch base regarding this issue, we are currently running v5.7.1 and are still experiencing this issue, today we have just over 20 pages of “suspected spam/bot” abandoned carts.

Any idea whats causing this or a way to prevent it?

I have now added the disallows to the sites robots.txt as suggested in your another post reply, but the initial problem still remains so i thought id update this thread.

    thanks

    Lee

    Hi @emcthemes,

This is strange that still, the bots and Crawlers are logging on your site. We have tried to fix this issue in the latest update of the plugin but there can be other ways through which bots could be created.

However, we will need to check on the specific sites as to why it is still happening. We will need some more information regarding this issue. Can you please create a support ticket here and provide us the login access to your site so that our developers can check the issue at your end.

    Please let us know.

    Regards,
    Priyanka Jagtap

This is still happening with the new version. Any update on a real fix?

    Hi @lmbpack,

    I apologize for the inconvenience.
    ?
These spam carts are because of some crawlers or bots currently traversing sites. These bots add products to the cart and initiate sessions on the site. These carts are capturing in our plugin because WooCommerce also allows tracking these carts when bots crawl.

However, currently, our development team is looking for a permanent solution to stop tracking such carts from being logged. We will get back to you once we found the appropriate solution.

Until this issue permanently resolved, we recommend you disable the setting “Start tracking from Cart Page” in our plugin. Disabling this setting will not capture the visitor’s cart on the website where the user’s email address and name are not entered. This setting is located at WooCommerce -> Abandoned Carts -> Settings -> General Settings.

Do let us know if you have any other questions.
