    Hi,

I’ve ran the bulk editor on my site and I have resulted with several thousand files that has resulted in my host warning me I have too many files and the server performance will slow!

Why is it creating in some cases 17 images at different sizes?
Where are the backups stored? I thought I had found the in “shortpixelbackups” but that is infact the resized images?

    Thanks,
    Declan

    Hi Declan,
    thanks for your message.

I guess you’ve chosen to keep a backup of the original files and this is why you end up with more images than you originally had.

Anyway, please note that ShortPixel won’t generate any new thumbnail sizes; you have in some cases 17 images because your WP installation creates that many thumbnails. ShortPixel only optimizes them.

    You could use
“Empty backups” option in Settings/ShortPixel/Statistics to empty the backup dir.

Please let me know if there is anything else I can assist you with?
