• Wondering if anyone has encountered this strange issue.

Using WP, every time I have created a page that has 15 or more outbound links (like a traditional “Links” page or archive of material for a website), when clicking “UPDATE” on the page, it has crashed the site, producing this error:

    This page isn’t working
    (domain.com) didn’t send any data.
    ERR_EMPTY_RESPONSE

If I’m lucky, waiting a while and repeatedly refreshing and clearing the cache will often clear the error and allow me to access the site again.

I’ve found that if I remove the outbound hyperlinks, or even cut down the number of them listed on a single page, the error disappears.

The problem has occured for me on at least 5 different websites, with different web hosts. All with updated PHP, themes, plugins, WP core, etc.

Has anyone dealt with this?? Am I doing something wrong?

This may be a plugin or theme conflict. Please attempt to disable all plugins, and switch to the default Twenty Nineteen theme. If the problem goes away, enable them one by one to identify the source of the problem.

If you can install plugins, install Health Check. On the troubleshooting tab, you can click the button to disable all plugins and change the theme for you, while you’re still logged in, without affecting normal visitors to your site.
