• Hello

    I got a message from my webhost. It says the site is using too many outgoing requests (more than 100 for 5 minutes). I think it is because of Instagram Widget by WPZOOM. I used snitch plugin to check.
    I wonder what https://api.instagram.com/v1/users/self/media/recent is used for? What if I block this call to this api? or how could I make less requests?

    Thanks a lot for your help

    Perrine

    NUTS. Now I need to review all of the author’s 76 replies and delete them as needed…

    Hi Perrine, please do not send the author anything. That author and I are about to haev a little talk.

    @wpzoom I’ve deleted your offer to login to your user’s site. I’m am 100% sure you mean well but please never ask for credentials on these forums.

    Now for the why: The internet is a wonderful place full of very nice people and a few very bad ones. I’m sure everyone here is very nice however, by giving some ones keys to your house you are trusting they wont steal anything. Likewise the person who takes the keys is now responsible for the house FOREVER.

    If something was to go wrong, then you the author may well legally become liable for damages, which they would not normally have been as their software is provided without warranty.

    Please be aware that repeatedly asking for credentials will result in us asking you to repeatedly stop before escalating up to the plugins team.

    Hello,

    I have the same problem: got a mail from my hosting service warning for too many outbound requests (255 in 5 minutes in my case).

    Requests are to a Facebook owned Instagram related IP -said support.
    I only have this plugin installed on that does Instagram related things.

    I’ve updated to the latest version but I wonder if this will change anything.

    @lazulirondoudou,

    Unfortunately, the wp.org moderators team insists that we should provide support only within the limits of this forum, but this doesn’t allow us to gain enough information from users with this problem so we can investigate it and see where this problem comes from.

    Probably it would be better for you to find an alternative plugin to use.

    @ciorici
    Thank you for your reply.
    Of course I understand.

    As for the problem it’s quite strange because I’ve been using your plugin for more than six months and I’ve never got this problem before today.

    I’m still waiting for my webhost to reply to see if the problem is fixed with what I did (WP & Instagram Widget plugin updates), if not I’d probably use another plugin as you suggested.

    I hope you’ll be able to find out where it comes from in the future.
    Thank you again for your reply.

    @lazulirondoudou,

    By the way, do you have a regular WordPress install or multi-site (network)?

    @ciorici

    I have a regular install.
    And not a lot of views (100 the good days xD).
