Too many product variations causing 'Out Of Stock' message

Hey guys
I have been having an issue after the WC update to 4.2.4. I sell shirts that come in about 32 variations of sizes and shirt types. Prior to the update I never had an issue with uploading new products, however now when I create a new product with more than 20 or so variations I get an out of stock message like the one seen on the product below.

If I remove a few variations the product will go back to showing as ‘in-stock’, however I would like to be able to offer as many variations as I had previously.
I thought it might be a PHP issue so I updated that which did not fix the problem. I realize this might be a theme error however I do not have the web vocabulary to communicate the problem to them and would appreciate any help I can get.
Not sure if this will be useful but I found a user that sounded like they were having a similar problem below.
