    Hello,

My site keeps saying “too many redirects” and will now not let me login to the backend of my site to address. I did updated the General/Settings portion to remove the “WWW” from the URL and I think that is where i went wrong. How can I login to fix?

Thanks in advance for your help,
    Chelsey

  • Hello since you can’t login to the backend there are 4 ways to do it. You’ll have to pick one depending on your skills and remember to first backup before doing any changes. You can find more information of the methods here https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL#Changing_the_Site_URL .

I downloaded CyberDuck to edit the FTP without logging in. However, I keep getting a message saying “530 Login incorrect. Please contact your web hosting service provider for assistance.”

Should I try a different way? Should this be this complicated?

If I try logging in anonymously, I get a message saying “Connection reset. The connection attempt was rejected. The server may be down, or your network may not be properly configured.”

The 530 Login incorrect. means that your FTP login details are incorrect. That’s something we can’t help you with as you are the only one that knows your hosting provider + login info. Don’t mix those up with your WordPress details though, those are your servers details ( usually they were emailed to you when you bought out the web hosting plan ).

Please enter your CPanel/Plesk >> File Managements

Look for your website and rename .htaccess to htaccess.txt

Use this website to check if the redirect is fixed: https://www.redirect-checker.org/index.php

If the error still persists then it must be one of the plugins is also interfering. All you have to do is go to wp-content and rename plugins to plugins.old

Hello – thank you both for your help. I apologize, but both of these options to fix my site are a bit above my skill level.

I now have access to my domain host.
I have login info for the backend of WordPress (which I currently cannot reach)

What is the easiest way to get my site up and running? I really appreciate all the help and details you can give. THANKS
