Too Many Redirects error after Migration

  • I have a fresh install of WordPress on a Godaddy shared hosting account that I’m migrating another wp site too for testing/troubleshooting purposes. I haven’t installed a single plugin yet. I imported the DB from the old site via PHPMyQL and am now getting the “too many redirects” error in every browser.

    Here’s what I’ve done so far to troubleshoot but is not working:

    1. changed all URLS in the DB prior to importing
    2. verifying the wp_options table has the new url in it
    3. deleted the existing .htaccess file and created a new one using default wp settings

    Clearly, something in the DB is creating the loop but I don’t know what it could be. I know on the old site the Yoast Plugin has some redirects setup but I don’t see how that could be creating the issues when it’s not even installed on the new server. Any ideas here?
