    Hi there!
My site has error: too many redirects.

    History:
I recently had to remove a redirect URL on my hosting panel…
    (I had jennyelenihealth.com redirecting to courses.jennyelenihealth.com)
So, I can do the redirect within wordpress.

However, I can’t even open wordpress admin panel now.

I also recently changed the DNS settings to default on my hosting panel – advised to do this, as the redirect function has a redirect IP address…so restoring to it default DNS brings the IP address back to the wordpress url.

In any case, it’s been 3 hours and I thought by now the change would have propagated. I’ve cleared cached, cleared cookies..but jennyelenihealth.com does not open and has error: too many redirects.

Any suggestions on what I can do?
    thanks!
    Jenny

    Hi there!
    Yes!
    Late last night.

As this might help others – the resolution was this:

My hosting provider said that the .htacess strangely has a ‘redirect /’ text in the file.
WE don’t know who and why it was put there.

In any case, I accessed the .htaccess in my FTP, opened the Text, deleted that line (was the very last line after the ‘# End WordPress’. Saved it.

Opened URL in browser – and no more redirects! Phew!
Hopefully that might help another person.
The only way I suspect that redirect text in the .htaccess might have gotten there is when I did the domain reg transfer? Have no idea. Strange.

    So relieved!
