    Hi, hoping for some help
    I updated to 4.5, and then the page won’t load. I get the “too many redirects..” error.

    I’ve tried deactivating all plugins with no luck, changing theme, changing frontpage..

    All other pages seem to work fine, its just the frontpage that gives the error.

    https://www.okobygg.no
    https://www.okobygg.no/forside seems to work, but even when that page is set as stativ frontpage, it gives the error.

    Regards.

  • Hi there!

    Could you try hitting the “Save Changes” button on your permalinks settings page?

    If that doesn’t work, see if you can remove the .htaccess file (back it up first!) and then re-save the permalinks again to regenerate it.

    Thanks for your input. Have tried the save changes with no luck.
    Now I have also tried removing the .htaccess file.. Then I can’t access anything. Restored it, and same problem – everything works except entering the https://www.example.com address.

    For instance, I noticed now – that if i enter the https://www.okobygg.no/index.php it loads perfectly. But if I leave out the ‘index.php’ part, it gives the error.

    Isn’t that strange?

    It certainly does sound peculiar. Could you post the contents of your .htaccess file for me please?

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    That looks amazingly…normal. ??

    At this stage, I would probably consider contacting your host to see what they can do to help out.

    One question though: Is your site meant to be accessed on ?kobygg.no or okobygg.no? As a last-ditch effort, it may be worth a shot setting your siteurl to okobygg.no and see if that does anything.

    Yes, strange ??
    I′ve contacted my host, to see if they can figure it out
    The site is meant to be ?kobygg.no.
    okobygg is linked to the same host, intended for foreign users, or in other cases the Norwegian special character ? can′t be used.

    Edit: I now changed to okobygg.no, and the frontpage runs fine. So I guess this has something to do with the latest update, and special characters in domain / site name?

    Thanks a lot for your help!

    OK. So, finally I tried to enter the site URL in ACE form. (correct?)
    xn--kobygg-9xa.no in stead of ?kobygg.no
    So the correct address appears in the address field, and the front page loads fine. So I guess this was the right way to go. Thanks a lot for great help!
