Too much get-attachement admin-ajax.php requests with yoasts plugin enabled

When I edit a page of the site the loading time is very high and the consumption of RAM and CPU is also very high.

In the network inspector I see that there are too many requests to the admin-ajax.php script with the get-attachment method.

This happens when I have the Yoast SEO plugin activated, if I deactivate Yoast these requests are not made.

I have all the plugins updated.

    How can I solve?

    —- Configuration —-
    Theme The7 v.9.3.1
    The7 WPBackery Page Builder 6.4.2
Ultimate Addons for WPBakery Page Builder 3.19.7
    Yoast SEO 15.3

    I tried PHP 7.2, 7.3 and 7.4
    PHP Max Input Vars: 10000
    PHP Memory Limit: 512 MB
    PHP Time Limit: 360

  • Hi @antoniocaccese,

Thanks for reaching out to us about this issue you’re seeing. These requests don’t look familiar, so we’d like to find out whether these requests are caused by Yoast SEO or if they’re due to a conflict with a plugin or theme on your site.

Just to be sure, you can do a test to see if this still happens if you?deactivate all non-Yoast plugins and switch to a standard theme?like?Twenty Nineteen.?

We recommend doing this on a staging site or using the?Health Check & Troubleshooting?plugin.

We have a step-by-step guide here:?How to check for plugin conflicts.

Hi Priscilla, thanks for your reply.
I did as you suggested and installed the site on a test domain.

I did several tests and got the following results:

    • all non-Yoast plugins deactivated and TwentyTwenty theme – no problem
    • all non-Yoast plugins deactivated and The7 theme activated: no problem
    • WPBakery Page Builder + Yoast + TwentyTwenty theme – no problem
    • WPBakery Page Builder + The7 theme and Yoast deactivated: no problem
    • WPBakery Page Builder + Yoast + The7 theme: lot of admin-ajax.php requests

The problem therefore only occurs when I have the The7 theme activated, the WPBakery page builder and the Yoast SEO plugin activated.

In Yoast I tried to disable the SEO Analysis and Readability features but the problem is always there.

If you want I can give you access to the stage site admin and FTP access if you want to let your developers verify.

    Thanks

same issue with my website (Basel theme, Yoast SEO plugin, WPBakery Page Builder). Each time is active the Yoast plugin, the Browser Console show “Failed to load resource: the server responded with a status of 503 () – https://gymme.vn/wp-admin/admin-ajax.php” and the Memory in server increase a lot of. There are many plugin in my website but no problem. I like Yoast SEO plugin but I can’t deactivate some core plugin in like WPBakery Page Builder to use the Yoast plugin
