Too much resources: Slows down / shuts down site

I like your plugin and want to use it. I have it on a few sites, and no problems with it.
Except with one site I was using it to display a lot of RSS feeds from various places, and the resources it took caused website to be VERY SLOW and then caused my hosting provider to disable my site. This could be a big issue but in this case it wasn’t a big problem since I didn’t have a large amount of traffic being sent there at that time.
What is best practice for using this with lots of feeds? Is there a way to set it to only make calls to populate the feeds lists displayed on my website once every 12/24 hours? (I think it was making a call for all the feeds every time someone refreshed a page).
