Too much space between 's

The problem is too much space appearing between my links “Register to Race” and “Register to Volunteer” and the text that surrounds them. As you can see, I added no style modifiers to my “4×6” and “8.5×11” and there is no spacing issue. Why is it when I add style modifiers to the aforementioned links it creates massive spacing? The spacing seems equivalent to the font size as well.

I’ve tried different approaches. I’ve added style to the page css, modifying the css of my <p> on the stylesheet, creating a <p1> and modifying that css. I’ve also messed with line-heights and margins but can’t figure this out.
