• Jason,

Recently, all my easy footnote tooltips have started showing html tags. The footnotes at the end of the page are still displaying the formatted text.

I do not know when this started happening. I recently updated both wordpress and easy footnotes.

    Below is an example footnote.

[efn_note]Tonstad, S. et al. (2009) Type of vegetarian diet, body weight, and prevalence of type 2 diabetes. Diabetes Care. 32 (5), 791–796.[/efn_note]

    Richard

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

    Hi there,

WordPress 5.5 removed jQuery migrate. The removal of that has caused some issues with plugins using old jQuery functions. It looks like you’re getting some jQuery errors from the wp-eMembers plugin. Namely it looks to be using a .browser() function that was only available through jQuery migrate. https://api.jquery.com/jquery.browser/

You should reach out to the developer of that plugin to see if they have an update in place as the jQuery error is likely causing jQuery after it to fail as well including Easy Footnotes.

If they can’t provide an update you can use the jQuery Migrate helper plugin to re-enable jQuery migrate. https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/enable-jquery-migrate-helper/

Just to let you know re-enabling jQuery Migrate is really only a temporary solution. Eventually you’ll want your site to not be reliant on it.

If you get those cleared and still have issues with Easy Footnotes let me know.
