I would suggest to deactivate plugins other than WPS Toolbar, and switch to a default theme, as I do see the Toolbar while visiting my test sites with my Android smartphone. Just to confirm, check that the role you visit the site with, should actually see the Toolbar.

Also could you better describe “also removes my existing menu” that I didn’t understand…?

Ah, sorry I misread your post, I thought the Toolbar itself was hidden. Now I think I got your point…

Under 782px width, the Toolbar turns into a so-called “responsive” mode where most of its items are hidden. That is WordPress default behaviour as of WP 3.8. I presume I should work on that part as well, so that my plugin provides a way to “force” the display of some of these items, as this isn’t the case currently…

In v0.27 of the plugin I’ve added the option to forcibly show a custom menu with a caret-down (arrow). For next release I am pulling my hair on the best way to add icons to toplevel items, both in responsive mode (mobiles) and normal screens… Until then and if you’re happy with this fix, can we mark this topic as resolved ?

hello again, i have tried to configure the mobile part of the toolbar by selecting the options to force show the menus, but i can’t seem to get it to work. i have multiple custom menus on the toolbar and when the screen goes beneath 783px, the toolbar shows, but with no menu or dropdown. please help me try and figure this out. thanks!

Could you give me the URL, and make sure there’s at least one custom menu I should be able to see in the Toolbar, as a visitor. Also make sure that new checkbox “Display this menu in responsive mode” is checked.

You may contact me privately if not willing to disclose that information in the public forum. See top of source files.

That last issue was solved privately – it appeared the plugin CSS file was minified in a previous version by Cloudflare.

I would tend to consider that the issue raised by the OP is solved too: Custom Menus can now be forcibly displayed in responsive mode, and custom icons can be chosen for each of the Custom Menus amongst WP dashicons.

Sorry I’m having the same issue and tried to resolve with the checkbox “Display this menu in responsive mode”. However, it still is only showing the avatar and no text to the left of it. Thanks.

No text in responsive mode – not enough room for it so it’s removed by WordPress.

can we make the menu like a real mobile menu toggle or any mobile menu
the responsive looks weird with arrows coming on top

your plugin is outstanding it help to build a uniform menu across multisite and multidomain for user not logged and logged

the only pb is mobile version

if you plan to do it or if there is a way to do it
    let me know

    thanks

I have to agree – users have no idea what is in the menu. Without text you can just make a hamburger menu in the top left that when pressed opens up the full menu.

Or have option to hide the admin bar in mobile and let us use some other menu from our theme.
