TooManyRequests

  • Trying to set up my account, did the API check and received the following message:

    PAAPI_REQUEST_LOCK The API request is locked for 18 mins. Error: TooManyRequests: The request was denied due to request throttling. Please verify the number of requests made per second to the Amazon Product Advertising API.

    Provided information (api keys) are correct, any idea what the cause/solution might be?

    After the 18 mins, I get the same issue, as if the plugin spams requests when I click the test button or something.

    Hi,

    You should test your API keys on ScratchPad and check if you don’t get any errors.

    If you see the TooManyRequests error there, you need to check

    – whether you are using multiple applications that use the keys (if so, you need to reduce the number of them running at the same time)
    – whether you have made an actual referral in the last 30 days. Otherwise, they will block your API access and respond with that error.
    – whether you have many units
    – whether the cache duration is too short

    Do you mean to have had something sold or only to have made a link?
    I haven’t sold anything till now, Do I may use this plugin?

    Note that your account will lose access to Product Advertising API 5.0 if it has not generated referring sales for a consecutive 30-day period. If you lose access to Product Advertising API 5.0, you can continue to use other product linking tools, such as Site Stripe and generate revenue. You will regain access to Product Advertising API 5.0 within two days after your referred sales are shipped.

    Even if you don’t have working API keys, still you can use Category or Product Search units.
