Top Commentators Plugin Includes Spam Blocked by Akismet

Anyone else seen this problem with the Top Commentators plugin?

User ‘A’ spams my site with a comment that is blocked by Akismet. This user leaves their spam URL in the website section of the comment box.

Then a legitimate user who is also called ‘A’ leaves a real comment on my site. This user does not enter their web own URL in the website section of the comment box.

The top commentators plugin in my blog sidebar shows user ‘A’ with two comments, even though in reality there is only one legal comment. It is counting the comment held in the Akismet spam queue.

Worse still, the plugin lists user ‘A’ in the sidebar with a link back to the spammers web site since they were the only one of the two commentators to leave their URL in the website section of the comments box.
