• I apologize if this has been answered, but I can’t seem to find the answer anywhere. It seems like something that could be fixed really easily, I just don’t know how to do it.

I have a WordPress site (version 4.4) and a domain name from Godaddy pointing to it (301 Redirect, forward with masking).

  • Hi,

The answer is in the information you have provided, this is why it is behaving like that:

    > (301 Redirect, forward with masking).

GoDaddy have great 24 hr tech support by phone, if I was you I would call them up – and get them to talk you through how to set up your DNS so that the domain is properly connected to your hosting.

Right now you are essentially using what is called a ‘frame’.

Don’t worry – GoDaddy will get you sorted out soon, just give them a call and explain.

    Thanks, Colin. I’ll try that.

On a new note. I now broke the entire site somehow! I read on this page (https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL) That I could change the site URL in the general settings, but I guess I changed the wrong URL in the wrong place. Now the main page loads just fine and absolutely nothing else will load at all.
