I love how Ultra scales however having properly set up a top menu I see that the top menu doesn’t change on mobile, it just flows onto multiple lines, this looks cluttered and takes up about half the screen on each page when viewing on mobile.

Is there a way to resolve this with any of the following options (or any other suggestions you might have?)

    – treating it like the other main menu which becomes a button on mobile
    – clipping it so just the first line shows and the rest is left out
    – having a way to hide it altogether on smaller devices like mobile

    Thanks!

    Hi @j_

This is fantastic feedback, thanks for taking the time to raise this point. I’m away from my desk until Monday. I’ll dive into this thread when I’m back and take a look at the options for the top menu. I’m sure we can improve upon its responsive display.

    Chat then ??

Great, this seems like a doable improvement which would make a very significant different to the theme’s usability given the importance of mobile now. Any hot fix in the mean time is much appreciated in advance of a new version as I’m trying to minimise my use of the top menu for now so as to not put off mobile users.

Thanks again for the feedback. I’ll have a solution ready in the next week or so. As soon as it’s complete I’ll workup a child theme or similar solution that I can send to you. That way you won’t need to wait for the next version. I’ll let you know as soon as it’s ready.

Just a quick check in to let you know I still have this on my list. I’ve started but haven’t been able to finish. Sorry, been slammed. I’ll have it with you ASAP. Thanks for your patience.

Thanks, I’m looking forward to it and let me know if you need any other feedback as I’ve been testing the theme extensively whilst adapting it to our new site.

Any update on this fix? I’m having the same issue. It’s responsive on smaller devices, but on an ipad portrait view, my menu goes to three lines.

I’ve played with the responsive menu variable in the theme settings, but it doesnt seem to do any good.

    Any ideas?

    Hi @edwinj

Thanks for the bump. Working on it right now. Will try get a child theme out for everyone before the weekend is over. Just cleaning it up now. With you ASAP.

(The collapse of the top bar will be linked to the responsive menu collapse point when this is done.)

    Thanks for your support.

That’s great news, although i think my issue may be different, now that I read further. Mine is the main nav that’s not going responsive. I can start a new thread if you think this is a different problem.

    No problem. Please check:

Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation > Responsive Menu: Enabled.
Appearance > Theme Settings > Navigation > Responsive Collapse: Must be above 480.

Yep, all that is correct and I’ve got the collapse width set at 768 and no luck on iPad. I’ve changed this number up and down and it doesn’t collapse for me until it gets down to a really small screen like 480 or lower

Please, could I take a look. You could use Bitly or similar service if you’d like to keep your URL private.

Ah you can’t rely on that, moderators like myself will change shortlinks like Bitly back to their full URLs.

Thanks for the heads up Andrew, I didn’t know that. Can I ask the user to post on my forum where Private Reply is available?

(@edwinj if you’re URL being public isn’t an issue you can just go-ahead and share, then we don’t need to worry about this ?? )
