I’ve been using Jetpack’s Top Posts/Pages widget for over a year and loving it… but the past few days I’ve been getting this error message on the widget:

    https://awesomescreenshot.com/0152z6a604

“There are no posts to display. Want more traffic?”

First of all: My site is relatively high-trafficked (50000 visits a day), so why is this happening?

Second: this seems like a very odd front-facing message. My readers are seeing this… why is it speaking to me as the publisher?

    1. What is your site’s URL? There may be a connection issue between your site and our servers resulting in the Top Posts information not being transmitted as expected.

    2. The message is displayed for logged-in users who have the administrator role and isn’t displayed for others. The widget is returned blank for others.

    Cheers!

Awesome, thank you for the clarification about the message.

It’s offbeatbride.com — I just tried to reset my connection to WP.com and got this error message:

Your Jetpack has a glitch. Something went wrong that’s never supposed to happen. Guess you’re just lucky: xml_rpc-32601
Try connecting again. Error Details: The Jetpack server could not communicate with your site’s XML-RPC URL. If you have the W3 Total Cache plugin installed, deactivate W3 Total Cache, try to Connect to WordPress.com again, reactivate W3 Total Cache, then clear W3 Total Cache’s cache.

My developer will be working on the issue shortly — it sounds like a Jetpack/W3 cache collision.

Sometimes that could be it (or another level of caching, e.g. clearing memcache or Varnish, etc).

If you/your developer would like, happy to review your site’s debugging output.

To do so, follow these steps:

    1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on “Help” tab in the upper right side of the page and click the link for “Jetpack Debugging Center.”
    3) Click the link that says “click here to contact Jetpack support.”
    4) Fill in the description box with a link to this thread and your name and email address.
    5) Click the “Contact Support” button.

    Cheers!
