topics created in bbpress does not show

hi everyone, i installed bbpress on my site and created some forums for it but when i created topics under forums it does show up at all. it only gives me statistics like this:
(This forum contains 1 topic, and was last updated by) so that is what i get when i click a particular forum containing some topics. please i would be very happy if there is any one out there to help, thankssss
