• I’m aware that the missed scheduled post problem as been around for a while, but had avoided it until about a week ago. We do a daily post and use the scheduling function to have each one publish at midnight automatically. It had been working well until, as I said, about a week ago. I’m not a developer, nor do I manage multiple sites, but do have some IT experience and have tried to figure this out myself, but to no avail. I installed a couple of plugins that are supposed to help with managing cron jobs, and sure enough, one of them (WP Crontrol) reports the following: “There was a problem spawning a call to the WP-Cron system on your site. This means WP-Cron events on your site may not work. The problem was: Unexpected HTTP response code: 403”. The plugin author directs users of his plugin to this forum for help (which I respect), so here I am. I’m vaguely aware of what the plugin is reporting, but am pretty clueless about how to go about addressing the problem. Problem resolution techniques such as “disable all plugins and re-enable one by one” and “switch to standard WordPress theme” really aren’t an option here, as this is a live site. As with anyone who has had this issue, I am frustrated–but am hoping someone here can help me get back on track.
