• Hi. Totally new to web development.

I am looking to create a website for a group of volunteers to use to communicate and share information. So there needs to be forums, docs, photos, spreadsheets etc. Probably no Blog though.

Having read into the subject I am going to use www.ads-software.com to build it.

To avoid spending money on hosting until I am ready I propose to do the development on my PC as a local host.

Reading previous posts I see Flywheel has been recommended here.

Please forgive my ignorance but: –
    1. Do Flywheel expect you to use them as hosts after your development work?
    2. If they do are they good value?
    3. Are there any issues using Flywheel and then uploading your completed site to another host?
    4. Any hidden implications about using Flywheel?
    5. Any other approach?

I have opened a Flywheel account and am investigating things on their support community. To date I have seen lots of posts from people with problems. Also, like many sources of info in this field the information appears to demand a level of understanding well above that of a newby.

    Thanks for any assistance!

    Bill

L-b-F does not require you to use Flywheel hosting later or have an account at flywheel.

Per the Forum welcome, we close topics like this due to the amount of spam that they attract. The WordPress team has provided a list of a few recommended hosting providers. For more details and other recommendations, please search via your preferred search engine.

(Note: By closing this post I neither support nor condemn the use of the servers listed on the www.ads-software.com official hosting page, or in this thread, and encourage you to search around.)
