Total Share on Twitter Not Working

  • Even after posting the post on Twitter, the Total following does not grow.
    Here’s an example of a link that’s not growing. I’d appreciate it if you could shed some light on the situation.

    Thanks so much for reaching out about this! As far as Twitter share counts go, Twitter disabled their API that we used previously to pull Twitter share counts so now we rely on a third party service to provide that data via Twitcount.

    You’ll want to be sure that you’ve enabled Twitcount by going to Grow -> Settings and then enabling Twitcount. You can read more about this process here.

    If you already took the above steps, then you’ll need to reach out to Twitcount’s support to see what the issue might be with retrieving the shares.

    @mediavine Twitcount only exists on paper as far as I can tell. The service doesn’t work. There is a Twitcount website and a service for which you can sign up. But the product doesn’t work. So I would suggest not offering that as an option for users.
