    Hi,

So I did an initial backup…

When I then login backing, it says I need to do a Backup…again?

Any ideas why it’s asking me to do, yet again, an initial backup when I had already done so?

    Many Thanks

When I then login backing, it says I need to do a Backup…again?

Can you let us know what the actual message says?

    Thanks,

    Hi,

    Here’s what I see each time I login ..

    “Total Upkeep – Update Protection

On this page you are able to update plugins. It is recommended to backup your site before performing updates. If you perform a backup here, before performing updates, then an automatic rollback is possible.

Update protection not available until you click Backup Site Now and a backup is created.

    Backup Site Now”

Also, I set it to perform such once a week – Sundays @02:00hrs – but, it seems o be doing so every day?

    Any ideas, please?

    Hi @rik0399,

If you create a backup and it asks you to create another backup right away, it could be that the first backup did not finish successfully.

Are you able to share with us a copy of your latest backup log file? You can find it by going to:
    * Total Upkeep > Tools > Logs > Click the last log on the page

    Thanks,
    – Brad

    Hi @rik0399,

Thank you for getting back to me with the info from the logs! I appreciate your patience. This going back and forth troubleshooting isn’t ideal for you, but I’m glad you’re getting back with us.

The backup appears to be completing successfully, and it’s getting all the way to the final steps of sending you an email confirmation too. The error found at the end of the log is a php warning (not an actual fatal error) from the w3-total-cache plugin, and it’s not stopping the backup.

We may need to update the logs with more troubleshooting details. Before doing so, I just wanted to confirm the following:

    1. If you go to Dashboard > Plugins, you have plugins that need to be updated and a message from Total Upkeep that you should make a backup before updating.
    2. You make a backup using that button on the Dashboard > Plugins page
    3. You update all your plugins
    4. No plugins need an update on Dashboard > Plugins, but the message from Total Upkeep about needing a backup still shows.

    Thanks,
    – Brad
