• Is there somewhere or someone I can go to and pay to fix up my mess?

I followed an online tutorial to move my site out of the subdirectory and into the root directory. Somehow, I screwed things up (although I’m not sure because I followed everything step by step & it was a video tutorial and I had exactly the same screen info showing on mine).

So I called my hosting provider and they reckon my site is now in a subdirectory of a subdirectory of a subdirectory ??

They don’t offer WordPress support but are kind of looking at it for me.
They seem to think the easiest will probably be to reinstall WordPress but I really don’t want to start from scratch.

How can I do this? Or find someone to do it all for me?

    Please help, I’m desperate!

  • You might want to backup your site first before you proceed with anything else.

I really hoped someone would answer this query as I was about to do the same with my files and now I am worried.

Please provide a url to check you currently “broken site” if you know the steps you took to break it, we can fix it. I strongly urge you both to make backups as mentioned and then read this

This is the proper way to do it. All other methods… well there are none. ?? let me know if this helps and I am waiting to see your URL
