    SOS
After upgrading everything seemed fine, no issues. I just went into my blog and every single post is gone. I have no back up of my data base either. I can’t believe that over 5,000 post just vanished overnight. They must be somewhere on the site.

All of my tags and categories are still in tact but all posts and comments are completely gone. Could a new Plg-in cause a problem like this? I’m at a total loss.

Is there anyway of getting any of this back? I have years of work washed down the drain. Any help would be appreciated

  • The same thing happened to me yesterday, I logged in and all my posts, pages, and comments were all gone. Just like that. Overnight. and I didn’t have a back up either. Help, Thousands of posts and pages all gone.
Let me know what help you do get as I can use it also.
    Thans a lot.

Have you physically checked your database for the posts?

It could be a theme or plugin related problem. Test both. Deactivate all plugins and test. Then switch to default theme and test.

If you see your posts in the DB, you are good…we just have to find the problem

If you don’t see your posts, ask your host about a backup…many have backups

And start backing up, there are plugins that automate this, it couldn’t be easier

I checked one of my plug-ins that wasn’t working and it noted that I had a mysql database crash. I went in to my host and checked all of my mysql databases and repaired the WP mysql.

I got everything back but I think I just added 10 years.

Check all of your plugins to see if the issue is with any of them. Then check your mysql databases to see if one is not functioning.

This worked for me. My next task is to find out what made the mysql db crash in the first place.

    Thanks for the help.

Glad you were able to get it back…. now find yourself a backup plugin. There are several…they will automatically back up your DB and either save them to server or email them to you

I repaired my mysql databases. Works fine now.
    Now I will backup.

FYI. I used the backup process in my cpanel for the db and now I have everything backed up fine. It’s pretty easy through the hosting account.
