• I always try to add features to a WordPress site without using plugins.

When I wanted to add the necessary files and icons to my wordpress installation, I had to struggle through many tutorials without the assurance of success.

So I threw my pride away and installed this plugin, took care of the settings and tried the site on my smartphone.

    It worked like a charm.

There was one small issue with the icon, but after writing about this in the forum I received help in no time.

Friendly, professional a lot better than many paid support services!

    Keep up the great job!

Thanks for saving us many hours of try and error and exploring.

    Regards,
    Rob

  • Hi, thanks for the kind words about our plugin SuperPWA. The reason why you are seeing default logo may be because of the cache. If you’re using any caching plugins, can you please clear/flush the cache upon those ones. After that please clear the browsing data upon the browser and test the website again. (Before doing this, don’t forget to uninstall the PWA earlier created for the website)

Here’s the quick steps to easily clear the browsing data by tapping the browser menu on Google Chrome for Android > Settings > Privacy > Clear browsing data > Select Advanced tab > from that select options like Browsing history, Cookies and site data, Cached images and files, Site settings and tap Clear Data.

If the above mentioned suggestions didn’t help for you, please do open a ticket at our support forum with the website URL, so that we can take a look over it and can easily help you further.

    Hi Josef,

the problem has been solved. Not by deleting the browser cache under”further options” but by a miracle or so.

    Now it works flawlessly.

    Thanks for your kind support!

    Best regards,
    Rob

    Two more questions.

    • Is there any information about iOS support (the web brings different informations)?
    • How useful is it, to add AMP features to a website, in combination with PWA?

Thanks again for any help ??

Is there any information about iOS support (the web brings different informations)?

PWA is already supported from iOS 11.3 version. The most significant challenges on iOS as there will be no prompts or invitations from Safari (known as Web App Banners on Android) at this time. So the user has to go to your PWA URL somehow within Safari and then manually press the Share icon and then “Add to Home Screen” from the options.

How useful is it, to add AMP features to a website, in combination with PWA?

AMP is a good web technology used nowadays by a lot of publishers and it helped a lot of websites to increase their performance. If the website is mainly used for publishing posts – I suggest you to go for AMP. As AMP consists of 3 components called AMP HTML, AMP CACHE and AMP JS, the AMP version of posts will load more faster than the usual pages which have a lot of JS files.
