Tour for multi-vendor marketplace

  • Hey there,
    I‘m operating an multivendor marketplace based on woocommerce and dokan plugin.
    I found your plugin and was wondering:

    1. If the plugin works for multivendor marketplaces as well?
    Like I want to display a tour for every new vendor, so he will know how to configure is marketplace shop. Is this possible?

    2. Can I show a tour to a specific group of users only, like only when they registered as ?vendor“ not as ?customer“ or normal ?user“? Or can I make sure that only vendors will see the tour?

    3. How does it work to display the tour steps in specific parts of the website only? Or how is one step triggered?

    4. Is it possible to show a video, embedded from youtube e.g., in the single steps or can I only display text?

    5. Can steps be triggered by by certain actions? Like for example I want to display a message when a vendor logs in for the first time, than he should get a tour through the features of his shop, afterwards the vendor will be activated by me, the admin, so that he can setup products later. So it would be nice if the vendor logs in the first time after activation that he will get to see a new tour on how to configure a product. The same when he gets his first order. Do you know what I mean here?

    6. Is it possible to link the tour guide to fields and to go to the next step when a vendor enters some content in the field?

    7. Is it possible for admins to receive an email when a vendor has completed his tour?

    8. How much customization is possible, can I change the font-type, size, colour, add logo etc.?

    9. Is your plugin available in german? Is it ready for translation with Loco-Translator?

    10. Do you store any data of my users or is your plugin compatible with the GDPR?

    Hi, @regionalheld,
    From what I read here, you are looking for a custom solution, for which I would recommend hiring a WordPress developer to do the job.

    Simple Tour Guide is a simple and easy to use plugin that does exactly what it states it does – it displays a tour guide to site visitors. Nothing more or less and I would really like to keep it as simple s possible.

    Regarding your questions:
    1. There should be no issues with that, provided that the mvm plugin is correctly coded and adheres to the www.ads-software.com plugin guidelines. The tour can be configured to show to logged in users only from the Tour Options tab in the WordPress admin (in your case that would be the vendors I suppose)
    2. I would recommend hiring a WordPress developer for that. He can then fork this plugin and adjust it the way you want.
    3 Yes, you can very easily display the Tour for specific pages only – please check plugin’s FAQ
    4. Only text is allowed for security reasons but you can probably embed a video with custom javascript (have not tested it). For more custom solution – you again need to hire someone to do it.
    5. Out of scope of this plugin. However, you can display tour to logged in users only the first time they log in – please check plugin’s FAQ.
    6. Out of scope.
    7. Out of scope. Can be done by a WordPress developer
    8. You can customize everything. Buttons and progress bar directly from plugin’s settings. Font sizes, fonts, etc via adsitional css.
    9. The plugin’s backend (plugin options page) is translation-ready. The text in the steps is added by the site admin and can be in any language.
    10. No, i do not store anything. It can only use the vistor browser’s localstorage to detect if the tour has already been finished or dismisses, no cookies whatsoever.
