Nothing special is required. Maybe you got the trackback url wrong, is my guess.

Or it could be that you have not enabled that post/posts to receive trackbacks.

my server has problems with trackbacks/pingbacks. never works on my blog.

Trackbacks and pingbacks aren’t working on my blog either, even when I try trackbacking my own posts. The options are set allow them.
Anyone know what’s going on here?

Enough people have complained about this that its starting to look like a bug, rather than everyone copying and pasting their trackback urls wrong. It would be helpful if everyone having problems AND anyone who’s got trackbacks both sending and receiving correctly could let us know what build they’re using.

Trackbacks to my own posts work, but I’ve never managed one with another blog.

i am april’s last week nightly.
but trackbacks and pingbacks are not working ever since i shifted servers.
my admin as expected is clueless. :p

I’m using the 1.2 beta.
I can’t trackback to other blogs or to other posts on my blog. I am recieving them from others though.
Also, I’m not sure if this is related, but if I try to add a trackback to an already published post, I get a fatal error: Call to a member function on a non-object in … /wp-includes/class-xmlrpc.php on line 760

mikelu, your fix didn’t work for me. Also, I’ve tried trackbacking to blogs that don’t use ? in the tb url and they don’t work either

underblog: I tried to send trackback to you (the last 2 posts), but none of my trackbacks showed up. But I then tried to send from MovableType and it worked! To be honest, I have no idea why it can’t work in your case. Sorry that I do no help.

1.02. Sending trackbacks to another blog works, but it doesn’t work when I try to send one to my own blog.
