Trackback and pingback does not work!

I have still the same problem, are there any solution?
I use WordPress 2.0.4

Okay, please clarify a few things – what exactly do you mean by “doesn’t work”? Where isn’t it working? What are you expecting to see, and where, that isn’t happening?

Have you changed themes?
What theme are you using?
Can we please have a link to your site?

When a site send a trackback to one of my posts, i cannot get it. Normally, when a site refer a post in another site, this means trackback in WordPress, i know. But i cannot get these trackbacks and pingbacks.

My theme is Durable (cssdev.com), i didn’t change the theme. And it was working, at past.

If you say it worked earlier… Did your host change anything about the server setup? Any upgrade of software or something?

Yes, it was working at the beginning.
I have 2 other wordpress sites in the same server, and in the same account. (Dreamhost)

Trackback and pingback works fine on this two sites. Only problem is about in my site teknoseyir.com.

Can i ask this problem to Dreamhost and how; and can they find a solution?

I’ve contacted my host, Dreamhost.
They said that:

“We didn’t make any changes to the server that would affect pingbacks or trackbacks. Do you have the latest version of WordPress installed? If not, I recommend installing the latest version. We do not
offer third-party support, unfortunately, but what I can suggest is perhaps there maybe an issue with your word press database. You can always try backing up your current WordPress database, then restoring a old backup prior to this issue happening. You can then maybe try tracking down where the problem is.”

I’m using latest version, 2.0.4
If the problem is about database, how can i fix it?

Do you have access to your PHP log files? If so, check the error logs for anything that may be wrong.

Also, I had a similar problem for a few months, where every time I made a post, it would display a blank screen. The post was posted successfully, but any pingbacks/trackbacks were not sent. To fix it, I bumped up my PHP memory_limit from 8M to 16M.

I use Dreamhost; but couldn’t find PHP log files and PHP memory_limit in my panel. Thanks, i’ll search for these.

I use shared hosting, I’m not allowed to access PHP log files and to change PHP memory_limit.

I’ve upgraded to 2.0.5, but still the same problem. ??

i seem to have a similar problem – whenever i try to send a trackback, the top level domain is not included – so all I’m sending out is like “https://?p=4” or “https://2006/11/30/article-name” which of course does not work. I also tried to send from one of my own wp-installation s to another.. the same as sending to other blogs.

Did I miss anything very very basic one should do to make sending trackbacks work..?

The URL is built using the standard “get_permalink()” function. So if you’re missing the hostname, I’d say you have your blog configured incorrectly somehow. Go to your Options->General page and make sure that both the WordPress and Blog addresses are correct.

DO NOT CHANGE THESE VALUES IF THEY LOOK CORRECT.

Changing them to the wrong settings *will* break your blog.

Some problem here. Everything works fine, except the trackback and pings. When another weblog (wordpress) is posting something and has a link to one of my posts, It should appear as a comment on my page, right?
