Trackback Problems

  • Hello All,

    I am fairly new to WordPress and have two blogs that have been running about a week. I host them on my own server (WP 2.0.4), so no 3rd party hosting involved.

    I am having a problem with outbound Trackbacks – specifically they are not working. I get Trackbacks from others, but they do not get trackbacks from me. To make things a bit stranger – I can trackback between the two blogs which are on the same machine – just not to the outside world.

    It used to work, at least for one blog, as my earliest posts have trackbacks working.

    My blogs are:
    https://www.revealtheaclu.org
    https://www.yacrwb.org

    I have tested to multiple blogs, a couple of trackback test posts, nothing.

    I keep thinking it must be a configuration thing, but I have looked and looked, and nothing.

    I have no idea where to start looking – any suggestions or hints would be greatly appreciated.

    I posted a new wordpress blog on my server. Pinging working there.

    With the help of a helpful tech named Harry, I was able to reinstall wordpress entirely. We were hoping for a corruption file in the software. No such luck.

    It seems likely that I have some weird database problem that is preventing the trackbacks from occuring.

    Has anyone had a database problem that prevented trackbacks outbound before?
