Trackbacks not Sent

    I recently installed WP2.0 for my coaching4lesbians.com blog. If I enter a trackback URI when I post a new post, it never sends the trackback (because it never shows up on the other persons blog as a “site that links here” or comment). If I manuall send the trackback using one of the manual trackback tools on the web, it shows up fine. That tells me it has to do with my wordpress setup.

    I’m not sure if I am receiving trackbacks or not. Early on I received one successfully, but since I’ve had this “send” problem, I am not sure.

    Can someone point me to a solution? I’ve read here and there that it might be a problem with WP 2.0, but I am not sure.

  • 2.0 had problems, 2.0.1 does not (in the vast majority of cases)

    If you want to test sending them to your blog, and test sending them from your blog, I have a blog set up just for that purpose:

    If you are running 2.0 though, 2.0.1 is the way to go.

    Thanks for your reply. I was able to test & I can receive trackbacks OK but can’t send. I will try the 2.0.1 upgrade…..hopefully without incident and then test it again.

    Quick question — how do I get the trackback URL for a post on your test site? I don’t see a “Trackback URL” type link at the bottom of your posts….

    Hi there,

    Upgrade seems successful. I did a test to your site (and since cleaned up)……..and I can successfully send & receive trackbacks. Hurrah ! ??
