TrackBacks Off – Still Get Spam

  • i turned trackbacks off in my adminCP in options ..today i got more spam trackback ..i also use kittens spaminator, yet today i got more trackback spam. though spaminator strips any hyperlinks and the actual trackback nevers seems to make it to the blog itself ..i am told via spamcop that the puke magot is using my trackback as a host to send more spam out to others. perhaps spamcop is wrong, but i need to prove my defense.

    so today i took ?php trackback_url() ? out of comments. so now i have trackbacks turns off in CP, using spaminator and took the URI out of comments ..what else do i need to do?

  • Delete wp-trackback.php.

    Turning trackbacks off in the admin options only disables trackbacks for future posts. Under this method, you would have to disable trackbacks in every past post to accomplish the complete deactivation of trackbacks. To just do it quickly and easily, delete wp-trackback.php as mentioned above.

    hope i did that right ..i went into the cp and brought up the wp-trackback.php ? and deleted it..
