Tracking details shows two IPs and two locations

    Hello Team,

    We have enabled the “The server is behind a reverse proxy” option by adding an IP in “IPs of trusted proxies” box for settings in “Geolocation IP Detection”.

    We see two IPs and two location details in tracking-info details like below.

    IP: 127.x.x.1
Country: India (IN - AS) - Region: xxxx - Postal Code + City: xxxx xxxx
Proxy Server IP: 122.x.x.185, 127.x.x.1
Country: United States (US - NA) - Region: Virginia(VA) - Postal Code + City: xxxx xxxx
Browser is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/91.0.4472.124 Safari/537.36

    the correct result it should show like below

    IP: 122.x.x.185
Country: India (IN - AS) - Region: xxxx - Postal Code + City: xxxx xxxx
Proxy Server IP: 127.x.x.1
Browser is: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 10.0; Win64; x64) AppleWebKit/537.36 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/91.0.4472.124 Safari/537.36

    Could you please check and help us solve it?

    Hi @albertsmith009,

    Our main problem is that we can’t test a configuration like this because we have no server behind a proxy. The code we use was created by a WordPress developer that wanted to have this feature and for him it was working like that. Also when this code was created there was no option in “Geolocation IP Detection” to add an IP in “IPs of trusted proxies”.

    We will se what we can do but I can’t promise you anything right now.

    Have you tried using the shortcode [geoip_detect2_user_info] of the plugin “Geolocation IP Detection”? What is displayed when using it?

    Tried it.

    Here is the result of it.

    IP of the user: 106.xxx.xx.xx
Country: India
State or region: xxxx
City: xxxx
Data from: GeoLite2 City database (updated weekly)

    It does not show referrer URLs and other links we were able to see while using [tracking-info] short code.

    Hi @albertsmith009,

    We are really sorry but we can’t figure out how to show the information you want using the “The server is behind a reverse proxy” option by adding an IP in “IPs of trusted proxies” box for settings in “Geolocation IP Detection”.

    One of the users added the proxy solution to our plugin long before “Geolocation IP Detection” had this option; maybe try deactivating the “The server is behind a reverse proxy” option of “Geolocation IP Detection” will lead to your desired output.

    Apart from that the only solution we see at the moment is using our shortcode and the shortcode of “Geolocation IP Detection” to get the information.
