Hi, I am using the AMP plug in on my website. Does Sitekit put the Google Analytics code in automatically or do I need to add the tracking code in the AMP plugin? There is a section where you can enter in your Tracking ID and I didn’t know if I needed to do that or not.

    Thanks!

Great question! If you’re using AMP then yes, the plugin does insert AMP valid Google Analytics code on your AMP URLs, while also placing tradition Google Analytics code on your non AMP URLs.

Providing you’ve allowed the plugin to insert your Google Analytics code there is no requirement to manually insert any Analytics code, you simply select your preferred Analytics account and property from the dropdowns when setting up Google Analytics within Site Kit.

The plugin also uses the same connected property for both, so all visits are recorded and measured using the same account and property.

Let me know if you have any further queries on this and I’d be happy to assist.
