    Hi there,

For some reason in the admin area of google anaylytics it says, “tracking not installed”

I cannot get it to work. I have uninstalled the plug-in and reinstalled it, updated everything etc but it still says it.

I also cannot find the place to see if the tracking ID number is correct in the admin area of my site. It only takes me to the area titled ‘google analyticator settings’ where I can choose if admin gets tracked etc.

I have also gone to the theme general settings area and pasted the code in the ‘tracking code’ section. I am using the sliding theme.

My theme and framework has been updated to the newest version too.

    Please help

    Hi Susankp,

I have the same issue. Over the last couple of days I’ve installed a couple of Google Analytics plugins and with all the plugins Google Analytics said “tracking code not installed”.
However, today I found out that Google Analytics was working just fine.
Today I checked my Google Analyticator setup by using a VPN and visiting a couple of pages on my WordPress site. With an iPhone app for Google Analytics (that shows todays visits) I could see that all of my page visits were recorded just fine by Google Analytics.

I think that there’s probably nothing wrong with the Analyticator plugin. The plugin seems to be working. Instead GA gives a false warning.

    Hope this helps.

    Hi Saxbald,

I guess I was impatient. It all seems to be working now ??

    Thank you
    Susan

I’m having the same problem. I’ve checked and rechecked all of the settings, reset things a couple of times and I’m still seeing “Status: Tracking Not Installed”

Susankp — How long did it take for the data to show up in GA?

update — I got impatient and pasted the tracking code (from google) into the header (like Susankp)?, disabled the plugin (unlike Susankp) and voila! Status: Tracking Installed. No waiting.

I didn’t want to have double tracking codes, plus, if I let the plugin running I wouldn’t know which was actually working. I confess I’m also too impatient to test if there is a conflict with another plugin right now.

that is interesting webmystery. I hope mine is working properly

It appears to be now working and I think it took 48 roughly. 24 to get stats and 48 for the status to say tracking installed.

Sounds like you have it working now — there is actually a Google analytics chrome extension Google put out, and I use it to debug the analytics tracking code, and see what’s going on, if you have any further probs, you can try that
