    Hey guys,

So I’m putting this site live and hoping to launch it later today. This is my final (I hope) hurdle to overcome.

For the payment methods used in the store, I have selected WooCommerce Payments & Stripe – Credit Card (Stripe).

I have successfully sorted the API and webhooks for Stripe transactions and everything is working on that end.

I went to test three real transactions last night using WooCommerce Payments and Stripe. When it came to the transactions using WooCommerce Payments, the money left my bank account but didn’t hit the owner of the site’s bank account. It’s not showing up in the Stripe dashboard and I’m not even sure that it would, as they’re not connected, are they?

The Stripe transaction went through perfectly.

So I wanted to ask, where would live transactions go once the customer has paid for their basket using WooCommerce Payments? Should it just go directly into the site owner’s linked bank account or would it be displayed somewhere else, like a dashboard? Or would it show in Stripe?

Do I need to create a webhook under WooCommerce > Settings > Advanced (using the topic: Order created)? If so, the only delivery URL I have is https://mamadeeproducts.co.uk/?wc-api=wc_stripe. Surely that URL wouldn’t work? I can’t seem to find a webhook where the end of the URL has anything to do with WooCommerce Payments. How might I get my hands on one of those and then, where would I add it?

I just need to make sure that when the site is launched tonight if customers pay for items using WooCommerce Payments, that the money is going to be accessible for the site owner.

This is the first time that I have built and launched a WooCommerce store so I’m still learning.

Any help would be massively appreciated.

Thank you so much in advance,

    Kate

  • Hello,

I understand a payment you did via WooCommerce payments is not received by the owner of the site’s bank account. I recommend referring to our documentation about it (the funds are added to the merchant account right away, please note payments have a timeframe to be processed to their bank account):
    https://woocommerce.com/document/payments/faq/deposit-schedule/

Regarding the second question, please note this forum is specific for WooCommerce core questions, for better assistance please create a new thread specific for WooCommerce Payments on their appropriate line of support at:
    https://www.ads-software.com/support/plugin/woocommerce-payments/#new-topic-0.

We’ll be glad to check this further for you on there.

    Thanks.

    Hey @ihereira

Thank you for coming back to me.

If there is a delay in a payment being received in the site owner’s bank, how can we be sure that the transaction was successful and that the live mode is working correctly? Is there a way to tell or check or do we simply have to wait 7 days for the transaction to appear in the account?

I will create a new thread, thank you for the tip there!

    Thank you,

    Kate

    Hi @kateharris

If there is a delay in a payment being received in the site owner’s bank, how can we be sure that the transaction was successful and that the live mode is working correctly? Is there a way to tell or check or do we simply have to wait 7 days for the transaction to appear in the account?

If a transaction is successful, there will be a debit in the payment method used by the buyer, and notification emails are also supposed to be generated for the buyer as well as the store owner (for an order placed successfully). A transaction ID is generated for every transaction which can be used to follow up with the bank if there is a delay in arrival of funds in the receiving account.

As you are using WooCommerce Payments, the issue can be better addressed in the extension’s dedicated forum. Thanks for opening a thread over there. ??

    Hey @margaretwporg

Thank you for coming back to me.

I believe the transaction was successful, as I was notified by my bank that the payment had gone through at the time, it’s just that the site owner didn’t receive any communication from the bank or WooCommerce or Stripe.

Looking today at the transaction in my bank account, the two payments that I made yesterday (which created pop-ups to notify me at the time) are not showing in my bank. So perhaps those two payments were not successful after all. They were both made with WooCommerce Payments.

I was thinking that if we waited for 7 days for the WooCommerce Payment to hit the owner’s account (if it ever does), it might then be safe to enable WooCommerce Payments again. Does that sound like a rubbish idea? Do you think it might make things worse? Maybe I could test it on a staged site first?

    Thank you,

    Kate

The site owner really wants to launch the site today and announce it to start getting orders. Do you think it would be terrible if I simply disable WooCommerce Payments – Credit card / debit card until I can fix it? It will just leave the site with Stripe – Credit Card (Stripe). Stripe is the only functional payment gateway

    Hi @kateharris

Since you’ve created a new thread on the WooCommerce Payments support forum, I’ll go ahead close this.
