• Hey guys,

I have a client who had a vbulletin forum which he used as essentially a knowledge base as well as a social forum for his team. The team ended up using the knowledge base massively but not using the social forum features at all.
So he has taken the decision to transform the entire experience into a content-driven experience, so that the information and guides is THE central experience – not the forum aspect.
Although he still wants a mini-forum.

Now I know how to handle all of this with wordpress theming and plugins like BBPress etc. but one issue that I am unsure as how to overcome yet as I cannot find any scripts or tools to do this is how to export the vbulletin posts of just one user and turn them into wordpress posts. While maintaining title, content, tags, category etc.

Any advice on how to do this?
    Thanks.

  • Hi spark,

I found a similar post Here.

    I hope this helps.

    Thanks for your reply.
What that article describes involves spending $50 which I would rather not do.
I would much rather do the database exports myself or pay one of my developers $20 to do it for me – but since I like development I would like to do it myself.

    Any specific ideas?

    Bump

Did you find a answer to your questions? I am having the same issue

In the end I just hired a developer to code me a conversion script.

Are you looking to transfer the posts of just ONE user into wordpress posts NOT bbPress posts?

If so I can help, I think.
