• Hello all,

I have transferred my wordpress installation from being on my local computer with wamp to a webhost. I carried over the database and all the files and it seems to work very well with 1 small annoyance.

Most links work properly, however i have noticed here and there some still point to localhost/x instead of to my ‘domain/x’. Some examples are my rss buttons (stock, not from plugins) and 2 links in my sidebar login plugin (dashboard and profile). These still seem to point at localhost instead of my domain name. All my pages and posts and even all other plugins seem to be fine.

Im wondering if this is an error in how i backed up, how i carried it over, something that needs to be changed in the db, etc. Any help would be great.

I will post a link to the site if its asked for.

  • Did you change all of the urls in the exported database?

    I followed that guide before.

I was able to fix the plugin urls, but the rss feed (default, not a plugin) still points to localhost even though everything else is using my domain name now.

Im not quite sure what you meant by changing the urls in the database, could you explain?

I changed the urls in the admin/dashboard area under options/general. i changed the wp-config.php file. I resaved my permalinks. Everything except the little rss buttons point to the proper locations.

WP saves a number of site urls in the database. I’m pretty sure that they’re all on the wp_options table but I could have missed some elsewhere. If you haven’t changed those stored urls, you’re going to get occurances of localhost in file urls.
