Transferring a wordpress website from one host to the other

check your database name database user and database password.

Do check you have the correct database details in your config file as sometimes when typing you may have created errors.

If still have access to your old site. Try this in your old site:-

Log in to your old admin panel of WP and at Settings > General set
WordPress Address (URL) https://mynewdomain.com
Site Address (URL) https://mynewdomain.com

and save settings. Then export the database and import to new host database.

I have the same problem, but cannot access the old site. How do I find my old database name?

database info are in wp-config.php file.

I cannot get access to this file. When I try to get to my dashboard, I get a database error. I cannot get to the dashboard at all.

You can use ftp filezilla and log on your server and find the file on right hand box and right click and edit/view and you will see wp-config.php file in default editor.
