• Hello,

    I’m fairly certain this is either a very simple problem or has already been addressed but I can’t seem to find a solution on the forums. Apologies for my ignorance.

    I currently have a site hosted by GoDaddy.com;
    however, the website is published on WordPress.

    I am transferring the site to webflow at the moment. The problem is that after updating the DNS records the WordPress site has become unavailable. At the same time, the webflow site is not what is published either. The page simply breaks due to being redirected too many times.

    *Note: I had changed the DNS records on GoDaddy to direct to the WordPress site. Is there a clash?

    Is it that the transfer is automatic with the update of DNS records (on GoDaddy) to the webflow and that I simply need to wait 24 hours till the transfer is complete?

    If so, how can I still access the wordpress site (as there are still meta information that I need to carry over)

    *Note: the wordpress site is unavailable as well as the dashboard and any links pertaining to the site even on the “backend” of the wordpress site.

    The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]

  • There isn’t a transfer that I can see but it looks like you have two dissimilar A records over on the GoDaddy DNS server.

    Did you ask either GoDaddy or Webflow for help with that as I’m very suspicious of the two A records classing with each other as it tries to ’round robin’ those two sites when requests ‘happen’?

    @jnashhawkins Well to be honest, I only entered what was given to me by Webflow but perhaps there is a clash there. I’ve attached an image of the records for you to peruse.

    I think you need to go back to WebFlow for more help on this…

    I don’t see either CName record either that is in that image you referenced. You might want to correct that before contacting them and nothing of what WebFlow gave you there deals with your old GoDaddy site either. I was hoping one of the two A Records was your old site at GoDaddy still.

    Right now it doesn’t look like you have anything to get you to the old GoDaddy site (the old WordPress site from what you said).

    I’d probably fix that long enough to get my content out of there as you mentioned some stuff was still there… Then I’d set the WebFlow DNS records and go from there seeking their help.

    From what I see WebFlow isn’t using WordPress (maybe they do though) so you’ll need to work with them once you’ve left the WordPress GoDaddy site for good.
