• This is a continuation of an issue I have previously posted about (https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/restoring-from-updraftplus-backup-to-localhost/), and now onto a different problem.

Bit of background: my website used to be privately hosted, I cancelled the hosting but did not migrate my content back to the free WordPress.com servers, and so have been trying to find a method of transferring a back-up to my WordPress.com version of the site.

After much waiting and then faffing around I eventually succeeded in getting a localhost installation of WordPress started and then used the backup from the old version of my website to import everything onto the localhost. This all worked swimmingly and I now have a local installation of my website in the state I want.

I used the built-in WordPress exporter and exported an .xml file of the WordPress database and uploaded that to the actual WordPress.com location (the website you can actually see in the link).

The only issue is that I had a fairly large media library of images on my site which I was hoping would also get uploaded, but have not. Naturally if this were a www.ads-software.com site I could use any number of plugins or potentially even an FTP to upload my stuff, but neither are an option with WordPress.com (in fact I’m not even sure this is the right forum to ask this kind of stuff).

So, basically, is there any method with which I can upload a local media library to a WordPress.com site?

The page I need help with: [log in to see the link]
