Transferring site to a different host complication

  • Hi,

    I want to transfer my site to a different host, but I’m having troubles. Currently my site, leagueofdota.com, is hosted on Hostmonster. I want to move it to a different host provided by my friend, but I’m not sure how to, as it’s set up as a .org name.

    Basically: I want to transfer my WP files and database to my friends host (which I’ve done), and then have my .com domain point to his servers, but right now leagueofdota.org (the server I transferred the files to) is being weird?

    Is the solution simply to change the nameservers to point towards leagueofdota.org (which is hosting the files)? Will that fix everything? Because right now I’m just getting a white screen on that site.

    I don’t think I’m thinking clearly either. The .com to .org thing is really messing me up (I don’t want to change to the .org, that just happens to be where the server is?).
